What Is Website Marketing?

Website Marketing Done Right

Customers are the life blood of your business, but how do you get customers through your doors? We all know that today phonebooks are only used as booster seats for small children. No one under the age of 30 has ever used one for its intended purpose. Everyone says “…get a website!” but when you do, no one ever seems to find it.

The Internet is not a Field of Dreams. If you build a website, they will not come…unless you know how to market. The problem…you’re not a marketer. You’re too busy running your business to do much more marketing than handing out business cards with your website printed on them.

That gets your website out, but…if they have your business card, they already know who you are. How do you reach all those people who are potential customers, but have no idea who you are?

That’s where we come in.

We don’t just make a website for you, we market your business on the web. What’s the difference? If you look at our Case Studies, you’ll see exactly what we mean, but in a nutshell, we look at your website like a new customer would, and ask the questions they’re asking. Then we work with you to get the answers to those questions, and create articles for your website that answer each question.

Your New Customers want Answers Not Pictures

What questions will they ask? That all depends on your business. For example, someone looking for a dentist might ask “What causes a tooth ache?” So we would work with the dentist, who is probably going to list several possible causes. We would get information on what they are, the treatment for each, and other relevant information.

Then we go to work creating a page called “What Causes A Tooth Ache?” On that page we would list the causes, the treatments for each, the estimated time for treatment, and what that involves, links to contact information, location & business hours,  and if possible, a rough cost (with disclaimer that it is not a written estimate). By doing this, we not only give the person looking for a dentist, the answer to their question, but we also answer their follow up questions as well.

That saves the dentist time by answering common questions, it builds trust that this dentist knows what they’re doing and cares about their patents, it removes fear by explaining exactly what they can expect, and it gives Google something to list on their results page. It’s a win-win-win. I know of one dentist who does exactly this, and has people willing to drive up to 100 miles just to see him. That’s customer loyalty!

By working with our clients to find out who they are, and what their business really needs, we can craft a website that organically draws customers to it. Each page is targeted to a specific customer, with a specific problem. They feel like you, the business owner, is talking directly to them, almost like they were having a conversation. In the process, we allow you to present solutions to their problem, and how they can contact you for that solution.

Don’t Forget Word Of Mouth Advertising!

We all know that the best advertisement any business can get, is a referral from a family member or trusted friend. The question is, how can that be leveraged on the web? The answer is with Social Media. Now Social Media Management is a completely different type of marketing. It is very time intensive, and requires a lot of content. Depending on your customer, it could be very profitable for you to hire a Social Media Marketer, but what we do is use one particular outlet to your advantage.

Facebook currently has over a Billion users. Most of them are daily users. If it is appropriate to your business, we will set up a blog on your business website, where regular tips, tricks, techniques, and reminders can be posted. We then allow your customers to leave comments on the post, but unlike a normal blog, they aren’t just leaving the comments on your website to be seen by other customers, they are also leaving them on their own Facebook Feed. This way all their friends see the comment, who it was about, and any responses.

A positive comment about your business on Facebook can pay massive dividends. Your satisfied customers are leaving positive comments about you on Facebook for all their friends to see. They also see any other comments left by other customers, and replies made by your business. Best of all, they do it because they want to. Most of the time people will only tell all their friends about you, if they didn’t like their experience. This allows them to do the exact opposite, and do it gladly. If someone does leave a negative comment, that too can be turned to your favor, based on how the complain is handled, and it’s all out there for the world to see. Good customer service alone, will get you more customers than you can handle.

But Wait! There’s More!

The 21st century is a fantastic time to own a business. With the Internet, companies that were local are becoming global, small businesses with little money, can now afford to market on a level playing field with Fortune 100 corporations. As a small local business, it’s all about your bottom line. There are only three ways to make more money:

  • Find more customers
  • Charge the customers you have more money
  • Get your current customers to buy more

We can’t help you with the last two, but that first one we can. There are people out there searching for you, they just don’t know it. Our business is to help your business get found by those people who are looking for it. If you’re already successfully running a small business, you know who your customer is. Our job is to find those people, and point you out to them. It takes time and effort, which is why you haven’t done it. You’re busy running your business. It also takes skill and knowledge, which unless your small business is a marketing firm, you don’t have.

Your business is to run your business. Our business is to get you paying customers. You win, we win, your customer wins.

Win…win…win.
